98 In November

November was the month in which Adairs celebrated 98 years of trading in Gisborne, To honour the occasion the firm had a cake baked and iced by Antons, and this was cut and served to customers when they came into the store.

Jenny Rhodes, who also deemed the cake "delicious," compered the crimplene New Creations Story fashion parades during the same week. Some of the garments featured are shown on the next page.
