Racing Down the River

A good number of rafts, of much variety and design, forged against a strong wind and even stronger tide in the Youth For Christ Campus Life raft race. The rafts took off from the start in the Taruheru River, opposite Lowe Street, and rowed madly to negotiate the Turanganui confluence and head up the Waimata to the finish at Anzac Park. Needless to say, much spectacle was provided for the many hundreds of onlookers.

The Central Baptist raft crew enjoyed rowing their craft into second place.
