We Always Thought...

We always thought anybody, but anybody, who came from Fyfeshire in Scotland would automatically be a golfer, as Fyfeshire is where St Andrew's, the cradle of golfing civilisation, is situated. But not so in the case of Mrs F. Wells, who was something of a gun croquet player in her younger days— although at 93 she still bowls a sure hoop. Mrs Wells, who is a life member of the Kaiti Croquet Club, is pictured here bowling the first hoop of the 1973-74 season for that club. Some of the other club members in the background look on in awe.
