This picture of the Gisbome Refrigerating Company's freezing works at Kaiti was taken at the turn of the century. The chimney stacks are now no longer part of the scene and of course, over the years, the face of the building has altered considerably.

This view of the Roebuck Road bridge was taken about 1905. The drawbridge enabled the barges from Nelson's freezing works, further up the Taruheru River, to reach the harbour.
