Playcentre Farewell
Derby Day Doings
American Visitor
Mrs Lillian Boyce, a past president, and equipment officer, was given a farewell morning tea by the Kaiti Playcentre mothers and children, prior to her departure from the district. Mrs Boyce is pictured receiving the farewell gifts of a suitcase and a cheque from Mrs Kahu Carter, the centre's liaison officer. Both Mrs Boyce and Mrs Carter have been members of the centre since it started in 1967.
Mrs Veda Boswell (left) and Mrs Maisie Walker, both of Makorori Beach, are pictured with a couple of new-found friends on Derby Day, in England, on June 6. The ladies are at present on holiday in the British Isles.
An American visitor to Gisborne recently was Frontier Airlines hostess Jean Davis, a blue-eyed redhead, from Dallas, Texas. She is on an air-hostess exchange scheme with N.A.C., but when at home flies on Boeing 737 jets. Jean is pictured at the airport with Gisborne traffic sales supervisor Ross Stewart.
