"Down the Hatch"
A bubbling and lighthearted musical comedy, with the above title, was featured by Lytton High School on their Assembly Hall stage from August 9 to 11.
A large cast handled their parts with verve in a story of Gisborne types on an ocean iiner cruise, with all its pitfalls.
Ian Fryer and Matthew Fisher singing their jaunty number.
"What 'll We Do With This Drunken Sailor?" sings Chris Flood. The sailor is Wayne Green.
On the voyage for the specific purpose of finding a husband for their "daughter" (Sandra Newman) are Sue Freestone and Peter Andrew.
Sarah Pittar opened the show with a vivacious Sailor's Hornpipe.

Keeping control of a shipload of Poverty Bayans was a lot of hard work for Chris Flood, Brian Goldsbury and Tim Lewis.
Two of the happy passengers were Gail Findlay and Wendy McCullough.
Four of the more forceful characterisations were played by Carol Waugh, Christine van Melsem, Peter Thorp and Keren Rickard.
The cast gives out with one of the many jolly production numbers during the show.
