The Big Eye
May be Watching You!

These days of radar and electronics, you never know who's got a beagle eye on you.

If you're a motorist, it might be this big eye (below), which can pick up your car 1½ miles away and record its speed on a convenient dial.

And watching the dail might be Traffic Officer F. R. Herbert, of Hastings, who pays Gisborne a visit now and then to check our miles per hour.

But he finds our road speeds "pretty good". In a recent check he found only one car in 350 was going too fast.
