On the other hand, R. A. Burson, 442 Aberdeen Road, was highly pleased with results on a recent Sunday, when he caught these two fine schnapper, 22½ and 17½ lbs respectively, at the abattoirs beach.

One of the best items in humorous vein at a recent birthday night entertainment of the Gisborne Old Folks Association was entitled "The Gendarme's Duet". Here Mrs A. Lunam, Mrs S. Hatton and Mrs G. Curtis are seen onstage in what looks like the guise of Keystone cops.

Seven-year-old Sandra Meade, Gisborne, a pupil of Miss Ella Handle, who was successful at the Napier competitions festival in winning the Bobbie Scott Challenge Cup for H.B. and P.B. competitors. She was also co-winner of the T.B. Lockyer Challenge Cup, and was winner of the National Dance, 7 and under.
