The Money is In!

After much hard work by all concerned, the target amount of $1800 for the replacement of the original Turanga Lions' St John Ambulance has just about been reached. The lady members of St John put in many hours of hard work collecting donations, particularly on the cold Friday late-shopping nights. The appeal was organised by Gisborne Motors (who contributed substantially in the supply of the new unit) and Radio Gisborne, with support coming from other organisations.

Typical of the appeal was this donation from Rotaract, which was enough to supply one of the doors for the new ambulance. Rotaract president Tony Field (left) hands over the representative donation to St John Committee member Graham Kinge.
