Pow! and Wham!

Plenty of action was the order of the afternoon when the new Patutahi Gym staged the most recent of the Gisborne; Boxing Association's tournaments. Some fine styles were observed in the ring, as well as the action, which pleased the very large crowd.

N. McClutchie (City Gym) created a sensation when he knocked down R. Scammell (Patutahi). Referee John Jones keeps a watchful eye on proceedings. McClutchie was the eventual winner.

Pow—T. Carrington cuts through the defence of J. Robinson (Railway) but just misses with a straight left ...And Wham! A solid right from Carrington connects this time. Robinson gained too many points however, and defeated Carrington.
