Cityfied Kereru

A kereru (Native wood pigeon) made a few stops at 280 Palmerston Road recently to feast on the purple berried tree there. The rare appearance of the bird in the comparatively close confines of the city was noted with much interest by the pupils of the Central School. Before zeroing in on the tree each time, the pigeon surveyed the scene from the top of the flagstaff in the school grounds.
