Sandown Park Motor Hotel manager Bill Cross is the first pilot to complete his training and gain his private pilot's licence from Air Gisborne. A private pilot's licence enables him to fly anywhere around New Zealand, and carry friends. Bill is pictured in the Air Gisborne training plane with his wife Jillian.
