400 Entries
There were 400 entries in this year's Poverty Bay Budgerigar and Cage Bird Society's annual show. The two-day event was held in the St John Ambulance Hall on June 8 and 9.
Society member and local fancier for the past 50 years, Jack Penny, pictured with one of his top birds. Mr Penny, who was show manager this year, has been a life member of the society for the past ten years.
Up and coming exhibitor Philip Mitchell took 13 special awards with his entries this year.

Mr Fred Cochrane, pictured with one of his prize-winning budgerigars, took 6 special awards at the show.
