Action is

A series of drama classes conducted by the Operatic Society and Unity Theatre over a three-week period was finished off with a weekend school conducted by Mrs Meriol Buchanan. Mrs Buchanan of Tauranga is a tutor from the New Zealand Theatre Federation. Stage techniques, including improvisation, mime and movement were crystalized for those members of the classes during Mrs Buchanan's tuition.

Relaxation is essential, Mrs Buchanan says, before using voice and body on stage. So, the school started with relaxation techniques being given. Mrs Buchanan tests Derek Bird's reflexes during the first course.
