High Drama

High dramatic content will have patrons on the edges of their seats in this year's production by the combined Boys and Girls High School players. The play is "Beckett", by Jean Anouilh, and is the story of Beckett's life, and death, which was extremely gruesome. The production will be presented in the Boys High Assembly Hall on the nights of May 29, 30 and 31.

A strong performance as Henry II, by Peter McErlich, gives depth to the production. Here he attacks one of his bishops (Kim Watson) as he accuses him of abusing Beckett.

Beckett (Ken Adlam) has a serious conversation with Gwen dolyn, played by Andrea Nicoll.

Colourful costumes highlight the production, and the pageantry of the times is given full rein in these two scenes.
