Our Cover

Mrs Caroline Holden models one of the colourful and stylish 1974 Preview patio gowns at the D.B. Gisborne Hotel. This was one of the gowns shown at the hotel in the Lucy May Frocks Ltd parade in aid of the Heni Materoa Children's Home (see Pages 12 and 13). The wide collared halter topped gown, by Marti of Melbourne, is made under licence in New Zealand, and was one of several of the 1974 Preview selection especially flown down from Auckland for the parade.

Back Cover . After many years of wearing uncomfortable serge long trousers in the summer heat, Gisborne policemen are now able to keep cooler in a new summer uniform of walk shorts and socks. The difference between heavy long trousers and the new outfit is considerable and will certainly make the policeman's work much easier. Constable Rex Harrison (left) and Sergeant Joe Franklin are shown in the new style summer uniform.
