Members of the Old Folks' Association participated in a very enjoyable journey and short holiday to Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty, recently. Here, those taking part in the trip are seen in the bus before their departure from Gisborne.

Summer is the time for all sorts of things, including the building of summer-houses. This summer-house has been 12 months in the making and will make for a cool retreat from the summer heat for Paul Tyler and Matthew Fisher, at the Fisher residence in Rutene Road, when completed.

This black swan, not too many of which are seen in the city, was a recent visitor to Gisborne during the summer heat. It kept its cool by placid indulgence in the waters of the Taruheru River. Here "Blackie" is shown near the Botanical Gardens.
