Shooting Champs

Much high class shooting was seen at the Rothmans' Hawke's Bay provincial championships, held at the Gisborne Gun Club's range at The Willows on March 3 and 4. A thrill was provided over the weekend when C. F. ("Bricky") Gunn and then K. W. ("Bully") Bullivant both missed their 29th shots during the Single Rise championship, the premier event of the tournament. The men then went on until Bullivant missed his 40th target leaving Gunn the winner.
