Speedcar Derby

The Gisborne Speedway was host to the South Pacific 20-lap Speedcar Derby on January 25, where 10 speedcars attended the meeting. Star attraction was the new world speedcar champion, Trevor Morris, but he was beaten into second place in the Derby by Barry Butterworth. Speedcars do not come cheaply, some going as high as 8000 bucks' worth.
