Yoga Popular

The increasingly popular form of physical fitness and relaxation, namely yoga, was promoted in Gisborne recently by the founder of International Yoga in New Zealand, Mr L. Postlewaight, of Auckland. Open classes and lectures were given at the Y.M.C.A., along with practical demonstrations on January 24 and 25. Yoga is in no way to be confused with Indian "fakir-ism," which is responsible for a lot of mysticism and mumbo-jumbo. Yoga simply provides a system of exercising the body and quietening the mind, thus promoting health and relaxation.
