Doing for Others

Youngsters of the Crippled Children Society were treated to two very enjoyable outings, not long before the Christmas holidays.

Members of the Gisborne Pony Club provided pony rides for the children on December 10. Many children enjoyed the rides, even though the day was sweltering. Thirsts were assuaged, however, with lovely cold drinks later in the afternoon.

On November 25, members of the Gisborne West Rotary Club arranged for crippled children to have boat rides on the Waimata River. A beautifully fine day made the outing very enjoyable and the day was completed with a beaut afternoon tea, eaten in the grounds of Lincoln House.

At the conclusion of afternoon tea, club president Brian Johnstone presented a Jet Set Stroller to the society. This was accepted by Mrs Olive Hale, the society's field officer.
