Teacher's Certificate
Mrs Phyllis Boal, Stanley Road, recently gained her First Teacher's Certificate from the Sogetsu School of Ikebana, Tokyo. After three years of study and numerous exams, the certificate allows Mrs Boal to teach this classic style of Japanese flower arrangement.

A lot of hard work resulted in Nicola Hurdle, Rosemary Fromont and Shirley Mazengarb raising $22.30 from their stall in Massey Road, on November 18. This great effort for three young girls gives just that much of a boost to the Fiji hurricane relief fund.
This young Fiat was on display in the Odeon Theatre foyer recently, as part of the promotion for the film "The Burglars." It hasn't been seen careering around, up hill or down, nor over miles of steps like the one in the movie did, but then, of course, movies are movies.
