Barry Park Opens
The Barry Park Croquet Club opened its new season on September 30 with a good attendance of members and a fine, warm day.
Two of the world's top squash players gave exhibition games at the Gisborne Squash Club on October 7. They were the Pakistani players Hiddy Jahan and Sajjad Muneer (right). The two exhibition games drew large crowds of spectators, who were able to see just what a fast game of squash looks like.
Running the first hoop of the season is the Mayoress, Mrs H. H. Barker, with club members looking on.
Younger players are taking up this intriguing sport and three new members of the club are, from left, Joseph Hogan, Eric Hunter and Alison Nalder, pictured with Michael Hurdle.

Senior winter handicap winners were, from left, Mr Bill Hunter (1), Mrs R. Clarke (2) and Mrs C. Lundon (3).
