Pencil sketch shows the new William Pettie bridge across the Waimata River in the heart of the city. Seven piers will carry the reinforced concrete structure, which will be a handsome and useful addition to the city's public amenities. Plans for the bridge have been completed, and it is expected that work will commence within a reasonable period.

Miss Mirika Swann, daughter of Mr and Mrs D. Swann, Salisbury Road, who graduated at Auckland as a school dental nurse in March, and is now at the school dental clinic at Ruatoria.

New weighbridge at the Gisborne railway yards will weigh 30 tons. It is so delicate in adjustment that it is accurate to within a few pounds. Workmen are shown on installation job.
