Pencil sketch shows the new William Pettie bridge across the Waimata River in the heart of the city. Seven piers will carry the reinforced concrete structure, which will be a handsome and useful addition to the city's public amenities. Plans for the bridge have been completed, and it is expected that work will commence within a reasonable period.
