Fatal Smash

One man, Mr Koroua Piro, aged about 61, of Puha, was killed, and four people were seriously injured when these two cars met in a head-on collision on a straight stretch of road at Ormond on 22nd March.

Those seriously injured in the other car were the driver, Mr G. Donaldson, Mrs W. Mills and Mr W. Mills, her son, all of Te Karaka.

Driver of this car, a sports model, was Mr Clive Salmon, 2 Rawiri Street, Gisborne, who was alone in the vehicle.
