Autumn Carnival

This year the sun shone on the annual Autumn Carnival at the showgrounds, and the attendance was about 6500, or double what it was last year. The morning programme was devoted to a variety of amusing items which found favour with the big crowd. In the afternoon, a rodeo was staged which provided all with one of the best displays of buckjumping and steer riding seen here for many a year.

Gate takings for the P.B. Agricultural and Pastoral Association were £1075, and in addition the association received a percentage of the charges made for rides in a helicopter, the first to pay Gisborne a visit.
