Toastmasters' Chartere

The Gisborne Toastmasters' Club held its Charter Dinner at the D. B. Gisborne Hotel, on April 29. The club is a branch of a country-wide organisation aimed at promoting better speaking in public, to be able to speak off the cuff, and at times wittily – just as a good toastmaster would, in fact. From left, in front, club members Derek Brazier, Joe Mulder, Denton Lindsay, Lionel Neill (president), John Christie, Ian Jarvis, and Terry Harden, Hamilton (guest speaker). At back: George Law, Wal Dally (Napier), John Corbett (Hastings), Trevor White, Kevin Timms, George Mathewson, Winston Brill, Ray Dawson, Clive Pryme, Hamilton (administrative vice-president, N.Z.), Grant McKee, Bob Luxford, Peter Lawrence, John Hall, Campbell Taylor, Ron Ferguson (Napier), and Kevin Ryan.
