Ride The Wild Water

These contributed photos were taken during the National Canoe championships, which were held over Easter on the rapids of the Waikare-Taheke River. On this river is situated the Puripawa Power Station, below Tuai. The water is wild as it threshes its way over thousands of rocks and boulders and much skill is needed for the sport.

Fletcher lent this canoe to someone less experienced. See what happened! Fortunately, it is made of fibreglass and can be mended without Too much trouble.
