High Standard In Gisborne Gardens

The high standard of most Gisborne gardens has been maintained for many years and this was still evident in the 1972 garden competition, conducted again by the P. B. Horticultural Society. Judge for the competition this year was Mr H. G. Evans, landscape officer for the Electricity Department in Hamilton, who indicated that some gardens were not supportive of their neighbours. This could be overcome to some extent, perhaps, by having a best street section, he suggested.

Winning garden in the over hal-facre section was that of Mr and Mrs S. D. Spencer at Muriwai, in which the home is beautifully situated.

Whole garden under half-an-acre was won by Mrs L. Connan, Noel Bull Avenue.
