Yachting Champs

The forecast for good breezes did not eventuate and this year's yachting championships were held under slow conditions.

Flying Fifteen class winner was Dave Newell in "Ffagan," pictured here with crew Mike Brittenden. They took three wins and one second out of the four race series.

Jonathan Graham took second place, with one win and three seconds.

Dave and Judith Newell, ready to carry on their winning way in the Gisborne championships. They were sixth out of 35 entrants in the Flying Fifteen Open at the recent Auckland Yachting Championships. They also won the Lipton cup for Flying Fifteens in the Auckland Anniversary Regatta.
