The Big Ones Got Away
Two fishing contests held over the holidays did not bring to light many big fish. They probably took off for the holidays too!
The Greater Gisborne Fishing Contest, organised by the Tatapouri Fishing Club, was won by Mr E. J. Brown, who can be seen down at the far end of the beach.

The other fishing contest was organised by Guy and Dunsmore and Radio 2ZG. The people involved in this contest were, from left, announcer Brian Barclay, sponsor Ian Dunsmore, Trevor Mullooly (biggest fish), Reg Harvey (smallest fish), Mrs N. Brougham (most fish) and Nigel Taylor (consolation prize).
