Oh! The Relief!

The Gisborne Lions Club has presented the St John Ambulance organisation with two new entnox analgesic units. The units are used to relieve pain in patients, either at the scene of an accident or on the way to hospital in the ambulance. The gas-type apparatus is an alternative to using morphine. Morphine necessitates the immobilisation of a patient for a period of time before being moved, especially from the scene of an accident.

Members of the Gisborne Country Girls' Club held a very successful car-wash morning at the Te Hapara Service Station recently. The money made is to be used for the club's Christmas charity fund. Pictured here are some of the club members busy on the job.
