A thought for others

×

That the young people of today do not always think of themselves is shown here by the Tainui Sea Scouts. In raising money for their scouting activities, the boys decided to donate some of the money earned from grape thinning, on Messrs E. Churton and M. G. Tombleson's properties, to the Crippled Children Society. Josie Smith, confined to a wheelchair, had her dearest wish for a transistor realised when she received one from the Scouts. Here the Scouts are shown at the presentation to Josie. Philip Toye, Kerry Corbett and John Robinson (from left in front) presented the radio. At top left is Mr John Hawksworth, president of the Crippled Children Society.
