Rifle Club Honours Treasurer
The Gisborne Miniature Rifle Club Inc. honoured Mr Trevor Gedye with life membership at the club's trophy presentations, held recently. For the first time the club held an evening social for the presentation of trophies to the indoor championship winners and the venture was a great success.
Club president Gerald Fuller pins the life membership badge on Mr Gedye's lapel. Mr Gedye has given great service to the club, being a member since 1942, and serving for 20 years as the club's treasurer.

Michael Scandlyn: Barry cup for 8 grade champion

The presentation of trophies won during the year took place for the members of the Makaraka Boxing Club in the Makaraka Hall. From Mrs R. G. Kerr we have this picture which shows the recipients with their cups. From left, in front: Matthew Collier (Bruce King cup for best attendance), N. Mu Mu (D. Andrews cup for youngest member) and D. Borrie (Makaraka Bakery cup for most outstanding boy). Second row: G. Davenport (Jim Robinson cup for the most scientific boxer over 12 years), P. McKinnon (Alf MacDonald cup for most improved boy), and P. Kerr (Waliy Jonasen cup for most scientific boxer under 12).
