World Class Winner

Honours To Gisborne Man

Mr Stan Monck, Matawhero, carted off the top award for one stem of floribunda at the first World Rose convention which was held in Hamilton recently. He won the South African plate, which has in its centre one of the rare Kruger coins. These coins are fashioned from one ounce of pure gold. Mr Monck also won the Jean Chappell trophy of six champagne glasses for six stems of floribunda, and the Royal National Rose Society's bronze medal, and book, for six stems of decorative (three varieties).
