Kerry Ellis, Jane Duske and Robyn Haisman all qualified for the national championships, which will be held in Hamilton at the end of the year.

Five members of the Gisborne Skating Club competed successfully at the Eastern Regional championships held in Napier. Susan Burborough and Judith Crosby did very well. Susan was first in the free- skating, second in the figures, and first overall in the juvenile section. Judith was second in the figures, second in the free-skating and second overall in the junior section.
