From Mr Wallie Ingram, Auckland, here are another three oldies.
From Mr Ivan O'Connell, Fox Street, we have this picture of Martin's Cordial Factory taken in 1921. It is a far cry from the modern cordial factory of today. Note the old-time truck for delivery.
George Powell (Te Karaka) was the big wheel and Gisborne's best motorcyclist around 1920. This pic was taken on New Year's Day, 1920. George did a lot of riding at the big meetings on a track which was part of the old racecourse where Rugby Park is now situated.
Two shots from the Peace Day celebrations to mark the end of the 1914-18 war. The parade was held in 1919, 52 years ago. Note the "vintage" cars in the picture at right.
