Melody Sherwood, daughter of Mr and Mrs E. Sherwood, Wainui, (who have all been living in Australia but are returning to Gisborne at the end of the year), has been making a name for herself as a singer in Canberra She sings with the top pop Canberra group "Wyndrush" and has made quite an impact. The group itself has been on the pop scene for over three years and Melody replaced the former vocalist who left to carry on with a nursing career. Jeff Hughes, formerly of 31 Awapuni Road and who left the city 10 years ago, is now back in Gisborne after seeing quite a lot of the world. He was a motorman at sea on the "Waipawa" for five years and during that time visited the U.K., Europe and Russia. He spent some time in India before eventually wending his way back to Gisborne where he has settled at 55 Stout Street.
