Television'a Influence?

Numerous wildlife programmes on television prove that everybody is interested in wildlife and birds, so that the plan to develop the Rototahi swamp, north of Tolaga Bay, as a wildfowl habitat comes as a very welcome piece of news. An area such as this, that can be developed as a reserve, will prove a great attraction and if two or three obseration points are set aside along the realigned road (after its completion) everybody could use their binoculars and cameras without disturbing the wildlife at all. No guns, of course!

This would be a great natural attraction and put us on a par with the jungle observation trees of Africa, the observation reserve of the Miama swamps, and other areas of the U.S.A., and even the scarlet ibis swamps of Trinidad where flocks of this beautiful bird in flight make a fantastic sight.
