Tahunga Too

From Country to City

The Gisborne Co-operative Dairy Company's Milk Treatment Station in Lowe Street and Butter Factory at Makaraka were places of intense interest to the boys and girls of the Tahunga School when visited by them on an educational trip to Gisborne recently. This group is one of the many schools which see at first hand "how things work" thus giving them a much fuller understanding of the subjects they are taking at school.

About 30 miles out in the country, lying between Rere and Hangaroa, the Tahunga School caters for 30-odd pupils in that area.
