This high flying aerial shot of the East Coast was taken from a spot just south of Makorori. It shows, in ascending order, Tatapouri, Turihaua, Pouawa, Whangara, Gable End, Waihau, Tolaga Bay, Kaiaua, Anaura Bay and Tokomaru Bay. After that you are on your own.

Back Cover . The old iron bridge on River Point Road, just past the Bridge Hotel, and over the old disused bed of the Waipaoa River, still stands. It is still in solid condition and serves the orchardists, farmers and grape growers who live in that area.
