A new hairdressing service for patients in the Cook Hospital was started recently. A room has been set up as a salon and is under the management of Mrs Raewyn Ralph.

At a function held at the Bridge Hotel recently members of the Poverty Bay Charity Dog Trial Club presented a cheque for $600 to the Intellectually Handicapped Children's Society. The club president, Mr "Toot" Lincoln, presents the cheque to I. H. C. president Mrs Nora Steed.
