This Dress is Over 100 Years Old

This dress, worn by Karyn Wallace, daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Wallace, 1 Totara Street, originally belonged to her great-great-aunt, Mrs Alice Houghton in Scotland. It was handed down through the family and was actually brought to New Zealand by Karyn's grandmother, Mrs J. Wallace, 54 Abbott Street. The most interesting part of this is that Karyn was born on September 26, 1967, exactly 100 years after Alice Houghton's birthday which was, of course, September 26, 1867.
