Period Dress for 70th Anniversary
Members of the Evening Group of the Victoria League For Commonwealth Friendship celebrated the 70th anniversary of the founding of the league by dressing in costumes of the Victorian era.
The evening meeting coincided exactly with the league's founding date, April 1. 1901, and members had decorated the Abercorn Hall in appropriate fashion to mark the occasion.

A beautiful old shawl completed Mrs A. McDiarmid's outfit, while this exquisite old lace cape was worn over Mrs A. R. Torbett's ball gown.
The decorated stage complete with Victorian furniture and bric-a-brac.
Aiso dressed in gowns and hats were Mesdames .J. Gordon, D. Harrison, and H. Harrison.
