Golden Anniversary For C.W.I.
Country Women Celebrate With Garden Party
Members from every branch of C.W.I. attended the Poverty Bay Federation jubilee garden party held recently at Ulverstone.
Fifty years of C.W.I. have produced many long-standing friendships among the country women of the district, and this was evident as members talked about past years of the Institute's activities.
Past presidents and the present president attending the celebrations were, from left, Mes-dames P. Barker (1940-42), F. E. Humphreys (1943-45), G. I. Monck-ton (1947-50), H. Allan (1951-54), D. M. Mc-Ildowie (1955-58), T. Trengrove (1959-62) and A. Stevens (1967-). Absent: Miss L. Ruru (1946), and Mrs R. D. Rice (1963-66).
