Landmark Goes

One of Gisborne's familiar buildings, the Homelea guesthouse in Palmerston Road, is now being removed It will be replaced by a new structure for the N.I.M.U. Insurance Co. and the Automobile Association.

The building is almost 80 years old and was put up as a family home by A. F. Kennedy, one of the city's first businessmen.

The house was sold in 1924 and in that year Mr Fred Bar-wick conducted a three-day sale of the contents and house. Forty-seven years later Barwicks again conducted the auction of the contents of this magnificent old house.
