Talent Quest

Large audiences at Waikanae Beach during Carnival Week were entertained from the stage with a talent quest, items by local entertainers, and a quiz contest.

Talent Quest Runners-Up

Additional talent quest placings were won by; (l) Murray West, tap dancing, junior second place. (2) Ken Boreham, Wairoa, magic, junior third place. (3) Max Elbe, piano-accordion, second senior place. (4) Honey Rangi, vocal, third senior place.

Santa Claus up-to-date made his appearance at Barton Field just before Christmas when he arrived in an aeroplane from Hamilton, jumped out, and parachuted to earth before the amazed and delighted eyes of some two hundred children of members of the Gisborne Branch of the Air Force Association.
