Pretty Tere Crookes, 21, is the first beauty to grace our covers for 1971. She is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Harold Crookes, Waihirere Farm, and is working as a shorthand typist for the Lands and Survey Department in Wellington. Tere was home for the Christmas and New Year holidays and was one of the many attractive entrants in Radio 2ZG's Miss Gisborne Beach Girl contest. (See pages 11-12-13).

Back Cover . That Gisborne has its tropical moments is proved by the growth of this beautiful bougainvillea. It grows over a frame on the property of Mr and Mrs Keith Johnstone in Barkers Hill Road, and words just don't do it justice.
