The first citizen for the Gisborne district for 1971 is Sally Tait, who was born at the Edward Murphy Maternity Hospital at 9.26 a.m. on the first of January. Sally is the daughter of Ross and Raema Tait, Patutahi, and she is pictured here, with her mother, just four days old.
