Popular Head of Science for 4½ years at the Girls' High School, Mr Ian McNab has left for Auckland to take up a position as lecturer in science at the North Shore Training College. Ian has figured in outdoor activities while in Gisborne, being a vice-president (1968) and president (1969-70) of the Gisborne Canoe and Tramping Club, chairman of the Mountain Safety Committee, and as a life-saving examiner. Just before his departure he was involved in the search for the injured Peter Chard in the Ureweras, with other members of the Search and Rescue organisation, the tramp-in taking all night. His support in the club will be very much missed.
